On February 13 Clàudia Valsells brought us two of her artworks to our showrooms at c. Calatrava and c. Enric Granados.
Anna ProfitósandClàudia Valsellsmet many years ago in the renewal of a flat in Sarrià, a Barcelona’s neighbourhood.Anna was the interior designer and Clàudia the painter.Since then, Anna has done many projects and Clàudia Valsells has been leading Arts & Claus, a decorative painting company, for 20 years. Now she focuses all her energy into her art.
The strong link between interior design and art is something that has always attracted much attention to Anna Profitós and hence her projects cannot be understood without the presence of unconditional art everywhere.Not only in artworks, but she selects all objects, fabrics and harmonies in the projects of her studio, Deu i Deu.
The work of Clàudia Valsells is very materic and gestural, and her great allies are color and shape.For the artist there are endless ways to approach the color and has always been associated with its forms, creating her own creative language.
Grounded her adventure as a professional decorative painter, her paintings are able to decorate the spaces for which are intended.
Currently, the artist is dedicated solely to painting.When she was working as a decorative painter she almost had no time to paint.She believes that this activity should be 100% of her time and we are very happy with that! She explains that she paints 6 hours daily, except weekends.
